How to set up emergency SOS on iPhone and Android
Your phone already has emergency features built in. Turn them on now, so they're ready when you need them, then add Shecurity for your own circle.
iPhone: Emergency SOS
- Open Settings › Emergency SOS.
- Turn on Call with Hold and Release (hold the side button and a volume button) and, if you want, Call with 5 Button Presses.
- Open the Health app › your picture › Medical ID, and add emergency contacts. They get a text with your location after an SOS call.
Android: Emergency SOS
- Open Settings › Safety & emergency (on Samsung: Settings › Safety and emergency).
- Turn on Emergency SOS (press the power button 5 times).
- Add Emergency contacts and Medical information, and turn on Emergency Location Service.
Add a one-tap Shecurity SOS to your home screen
- Android: add Shecurity to your home screen, then press and hold its icon and drag the SOS shortcut onto your home screen.
- iPhone: in the Shortcuts app, create a shortcut that opens
shecurity.app/app/#sos, then add it to your home screen, the Action Button, or Back Tap (Settings › Accessibility › Touch › Back Tap). - Opening the SOS shortcut starts a 5 second countdown you can cancel, then alerts your circle.
The phone's own SOS calls emergency services. Shecurity alerts the people you trust and shows them where you are. Using both gives you the best of each.
If you are in danger right now, call your local emergency number first: 911, 112, 999 or 000.
Make it easy for your circle
Shecurity is a free women's safety app: invite friends and family, and share SOS, walks and check-ins with them only.
